@jauntybishop told me either gates or dayco only. I'm seeing incredible reviews on the old gator back, now continental elite v belt tho. Wondering if the Gates or Dayco only is just a tried and true Titan thing? Bc both of those look super generic to me. I even considered the oem Nissan one over them but it was $52,($37 on Amazon). Thx for the post! :)

I've had a gator back in for over 3 years now. Barely squeaks in the mornings on startup if it's cold, but it lasts maybe a second. Should get at least another year out of it.

I know different application but I only run dayco in my rzr, have yet to have one come apart or anything. My Buddy goes through the gator belts on the regular, my dayco lasted 2.5 years. Decided to just replace an have as a spare.

Maybe if things aren't as tight in there as they should be a gator back helps with the extra grip? If everything is optimal then the oem design of the daycos and gates works best and provides less resistance? Maybe that's why it squeaks first thing?

I was considering OEM too. My Dad mentioned Gates so I thought I'd look into it. Haven't gotten any yet. Gates has been around for a long time, I would imagine they manufacture OEM for some car company. I haven't heard anything bad about Gates yet so I may give it a shot. You don't stay around that long if you manufacture junk, right?

Just reading through and am surprised to here that belts are lasting 3 years. Guess it could just be the mileage too. How long should they last? I have an 05 and am just now about to replace it, just started squealing this past winter on startup. It's the OEM that came from the factory.

I'm running the OEM belt on my 2011, still, 6yrs and 73k miles later.

I recently replaced the belt on my wife's Expedition with a Continental Gatorback. That's belt #3, including OEM on her Expy, in 13rs and 223k miles.

I'm on my third belt in 127k miles. This one should last another 10-15k before I look at replacing it. Once it starts squealing I check the markings on the tensioner and inspect the belt. If it's past the mark or looks like it has any cracks I replace it. For $30 it's not something I'm going to try to stretch to the limit before I replace it.

Yeah I got the new fan clutch on the way and since I'm gonna be in there anyway I might as well replace the oem one,85k miles strong. My luck, just as soon as I get clutch and fan replaced and hit the road, the belt will go regardless of what it looked like

This is sound policy. Checking wear when you do oil changes and changing if/when it starts squealing will save you a lot of headache.

I installed my gatorback yesterday, removed the front skid plate for better access but still was only a 20 min job. Good luck.

Instructional? Lol I'm dreading this a little...
Probably bc I'm in Florida and tomorrow's supposed to feel like today....a sauna
