New to the forum but thought I would share. I am apologizing before hand if this has already been mention, discussed or suggested. Outside of the delaminating problems on a certain number of trucks produced in 2019 for 2020 sales, I have seen numerous comments throughout posts about screen scratching easy or permanent prints left in certain frequently used tap areas. There has also been comments about screen not responding well after tapping. Me owning a new 2021, I started experiencing all the above within 2 weeks. So I started inspecting close and noticed the dark purplish blue hue over the whole screen. I took it as maybe just a nissan thing because it had been detailed every week and it was still there. Then it dawned on me that I had this same problem with my Helix 12 fish graph screen after buying. It ended up being the adhesive residue left from the protect screen film they apply for shipping to protect. If that screen is subject to sun or heat for a period like most boats or new cars do on lots, it will leave this coating when you remove. Its not the sticky residue you see sometimes Its a slick film left after you pull plastic off and hard to detect until you start using repeatedly So I grabbed the Meguires car wax and a dress sock and started in a small area to test and that's EXACTLY what it was! My screens clarity is unbelievable now! My 360 cameras look like they are supposed to! The screen touch sensitivity is incredible now. No hard pushing or extra tapping. The glass on the screens are designed to withstand some scratching and abuse. Sorry for the long post but for any new owners I hope this helps you if you find or jave found yourself in my shoes.

I just bought a screen protector for mine as I do have those marks from frequently touched areas. Glad you corrected your situation.

If you use some car wax and a soft rag, apply a little pressure while using circular motion all those "scratches" and those dull looking frequent press spots go away along with whatever that layer was. Those spots are actually the real screen coming through. I will be taking your advice on protector with having kids in truck.

We have a 2019, only issue we've had with our radio is the rebooting, and one time completely factory resetting itself. No delamination that we see, and we are able to get the screen clean with InnerKlean from Chemical Guys. Have their been issues with delamination? I would imagine, if so, it's a warranty issue though, right?

Looks like a short production run of some true delaminating issues but it truly looks like a difference of dealerships truly cleaning the screen before taking ownership vs just pulling plastic off screen. You dont realize there is a thing residue left until repeated use with finger tapping in frequent areas like the top left back arrow and then center of screen. After a few wipes by either the car wash or yourself, that the "scratches" start to appear. I was like there is no way this new truck already had screen issues. It was really bad. I wish I would have taken a before and after but if you dont use a good screen cleaner or buffer vs just a wet wipe or a soft rag, it will not come off period. My $2,000 boat graph gave me the same scare after 6 months of use. The screen looked normal and clean the day of install but started looking like it was bubbling and scratching.

Im positive on my end. A new truck shouldn't have looked like that after 3 weeks. My Costa sunglasses wipe would cause what i thought were scratches and thats what I used on my Ram 12 inch uconnect to wipe down. Everytime I would get in truck the screen would look more and more purple blueish. It was horrible. See below. Pic doesnt do it justice but now it looks like it should. Its has the dark rich glossy finish, smooth and so much more responsive. It had all the fine looking scratches, blotched spots and tiny little dots everywhere.

Are you sure you are not polishing off an oleophobic coating or anti-glare coating or something of the sort that is failing?
I think that is what was partially happening when I purchased the truck, it looked like armor all so I didn’t think much of it. It’s not delaminating, it’s a coating or film of some sort. Going to post a pic in a minute.

That looks like delamination to me... ? To me the surface of the screen looks smooth and what you're seeing is that the outer layer of the screen is separating (delaminating) from the bottom layer?
It really appears to be a coating that was either applied by the previous owner or it’s the factory screen that has some type of a coating that is failing. I really don’t think it’s delaminating, but I could be wrong. If you look at the screen from straight on you really can’t see it.

Also, this is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT THREAD than I thought I was in. Sorry if I hijacked and my posts seem mostly out of place, not sure what happened.
The topic is still relevant though.

EDIT: Found out what happened, this thread was referenced in another thread I started.

Damn, so that’s newer screen inventory. My 2020 was supposedly out of the recall range but they included it and replaced it for free. Bring it by the dealer and they should take care of you.
I messaged the salesman and he told me to bring it in for evaluation. Brought it there but they have so many people out with the rona he asked me to bring it back another day.

Had a horrible experience with one dealer, they basically told me that it would take a tech to even LOOK at it and with an appointment I’d still have to wait 2-3 hours. Called the other Nissan dealer in town and the service manager took care of the warranty/recall process over the phone in less than 20 total minutes on the phone. Night and day. As a side note, someone on TT recently linked to a 2022 Titan review on YouTube and the 2022 was apparently delaminating.

Stopped by my local Nissan dealership early this morning to have this looked at. Huckleberry said that they no longer do appointments, only drop offs? What the hell? I have to drop it off somehow next Wednesday morning. How do I get to work then?

Huckleberry has a boss and his boss also has a boss, I’d go up the chain. The screen only needs a visual inspection, they can’t “try” anything to correct it other than a replacement.
Why did you bother the salesman? His job is done and service hates the sales department anyway.

Since Huckleberry was indeed the service department manager I am going to try a different dealership across state lines in TN and see how they perform.
