So,
It's been a long time since I've been on here and the truck has been running great supercharger and all. Towing an 8k load up high grades makes the engine run in the high 180s. It's great. It doesn't skip a beat.
BUT...I had a weird occurrence on my last camping trip. The truck made the 3.5 hr drive there fine. Nothing wrong. On the way home about 3 hrs in the engine started sputtering. Reminded me of what happens when a vehicle runs out of gas. I looked at the engine and tranny temps and they were great.
There was no check engine light. The sputtering stopped and then I suddenly couldn't not get the truck over 55mph. After this it died. We let the truck sit for 10 minutes. It started right up and we got home.
I looked into what it could be and threads on here say maybe the fuel pump since it wouldn't cause an engine light? I also read about the IPDM but the dealer says my truck has had that recall taken care of already.
I'm sort of confused because there's no lights on. The truck is currently starting and running fine. I don't think vapor lock is a common thing in fuel injected engines either.
Any ideas? I was thinking about throwing in a new fuel pump. The one I currently have was used when I had it put in so I'm not sure of it's age or history.
