Bought 04 with rear air bags. It also has an air tank and small air compressor mounted underneath rear frame. I have not tested the equipment but will be taking truck to a shop next week to have true trac in rear installed, while there I'm thinking to ask about getting the set up working. Are the air bags to assist when towing heavier loads? Does anyone here have this set up and how do you like it?

I appreciate any feedback.

Yes, it's there for when you start to load up, helps keep it closer to or at level as well as better overall vehicle control. I had a setup on my 08, I used it mainly for towing, put a flatbed trailer and a car on the back it would squat pretty bad, nowhere near capacity, just soft rear suspension and with a u haul trailer, don't have much option for moving the load around to curb that. Somewhere in the cab, you should have a gauge and switches for increasing and decreasing pressure. Looks like a firestone airbag, Just have to look around, some mount the gear in the center console, others at the bottom of the dash. And to our Member Down Under, again, lots of us run or have run them, usually set them to at a minimum of 5psi when not loaded down (recommended by manufacturer) And then when you hook the trailer and load it, air them up to level, I think when I would tow it was roughly 40psi I had to bump them to. My sig has the link to my install.

definitely is the firestone kit. I actually have the brand new kit sitting in my garage as I am about to install it on my 04 Titan to help with load stability and squat when towing our 30 TT. It's a great kit just run it between 5-10lbs when your not towing or you will somewhat regret your ride quality.

You did quite an install. I like the compressor location, mine is pretty filthy sitting just behind license plate. I'll have to trace all my air lines/wiring to make sure thing are good. Thanks for the feedback. I'll update my progress when I get to it.

wouldn't lose my bags. My set up is a bit Frankenstein. I run between 20-45psi at all times, but then I like the stiff ride. There's no guarantee that there's a switch in the cab, mine is in the toolbox. lots of options to customize a setup. keep us posted.
