First time poster here, but anyways.

I have my '04 Titan in getting the front diff replaced due to failure. When I was in there I got to talking about the weak rear diff and the finned cover. They offered to install a new cover and fluid for $112.00. I am assuming this is a pretty good deal, but wanted some input. Should I get it done?

I thought this was a recall or TSB which would mean the dealership would replace for FREE. You may want to check on this. Others with '04 models may be able to offer more info. My Titan is a '07 and already has the finned rear diff cover.

If it's not a TSB just get you a better one and do it yourself.......takes an hour maybe and it looks better & more reliable.

Stillen, PML and Mag-Hytec all make rear diff covers. $112 is not a bad deal at all for finned cover, install and fluid change. You will pay more than that just to purchase any of the aftermarket covers, although they have a bit more fluid capacity than the oem cover.
