Over the last couple of days I've noticed strange noises on my truck(08-Titan 4wd)....popping/clanking etc. Sounding possibly like the dreaded rear diff issues everyone seems to be experiencing. Yesterday evening I heard a pop, the ABS and SLIP lights came on. GREAT!!!
Got it to my shop and this is what I found.....I pulled the rotor off and everything just fell out.....total destruction to the parking brake shoes and the abs sensor on the right rear.. Absolutely no brake lining left on the shoes.The actual brake pads looked pretty good about 70% left. I've never seen this happen, especially to a vehicle that has only 57K miles.
Anybody else ever have this happen?

Poor design from factory, apparently the after market quality is a lot better. On my 2011, I just ended up removing both sides before the shoes delaminated and took out an axle seal. The e brakes on these (and most other) trucks are a joke, almost no holding power whatsoever.

Used to read about it all the time. Seemed like it was a common problem.

Mine exploded a few years ago. Replaced with ones from autozone, been fime ever since.
