So every time I pull in a steep drive way at a angle I hear a one loud pop sound coming from the rear of the truck. I thought It was the rear end of course, so I took the truck to the dealer and they told me it was the tailgate making the noise I dont thank that is what it is. Im not that supid am I?

Usually when the differential is going, it will make a loud clunking noise when turning left or right under light to moderate acceleration. If it is quiet when turning from a stop, I would say it's ok.
I got that too and have been looking for a solution to it for a while now. when i have anything heavy in my bed the noise hardly shows up when the bed is empty it is there all the time. I can replicate the noise by pushing down on my bumper at the corners when the bed is empty but for some reason every time nissan looks at it i get a "could not replicate problem"

dealers seem to have a nasty habit of always saying 'can't replicate'. I've come to the conclusion that is just code for 'the mechanic is too lazy to look at it'

I've started hearing that once in awhile on mine when I come out of my apt complex. The driveway is at an angle and exits onto a frontage road that is going up hill...heard it this aftn and sounded like a thud and then almost like something was caught in a fan (sorta like baseball cards in a tire spoke) real briefly.
They finally figured out what was wrong with mine and ordered a wopping $52 worth of parts. I cannot remember the exact terminology used but it was at the the bumper end of the leaf spring where it attaches to some sort of link with a rubber bushing in it that had split in half not the bushing but the metal part surrounding it. Hope that helps.
