Is there a way to turn these off without having to hit a switch everytime? Mine suck and go off when there is nothing there. Doesnt matter if the truck is spotless either.
Thanks

You could disconnect them at the harness but why? Mine work great and saved me from backing over a munchkin in a shopping center parking lot. Get them repaired so they work.

Yeah I love my sensor. I back up closer to cars just to ensure it's working each time

Have they ever worked properly or did they quit working after a while? If they never have, you may not realize how helpful they can be. The sensors are one of my favorite options.

Yep - I love the look on peoples face as I back up and get within a foot of somebody's cars with barely a glance in the side mirrors. All they see is this large looming bumper, tailgate and topper coming down on them!!

:D :D Ha ha, I love that too. One of my favorite options as well, the tailgate is so high, I lose entire cars back there.

I admitt though, at one time I made fun of these...but now I wouldn't want a truck without them. Now, if I could mount some on the triaxle.....

I've always loved those sensors. I can actually back into a parking spot with them! I find them to be very sensitive which, to me, is great! The detect things on the side as well as the rear and see them about 6 feet away. They even see snow piles only a foot high!

Nope. They drill one hole on each side of the bumper and install the sensors. The factory has 4 sensors.
Well, I'm replacing my XE bumper with a chrome one so I might as well just get one with the sensor holes and get the factory to do that installation. Are you sure they can do it on an XE? Cuz i know i cant install fog lights without some major wiring cuz mines an XE.

I don't think your sensors are messing up... Mine has done that before, every so often I make sure to wipe the soot and dust off the rear bumper to clean the sensors up... try that first, before taking it to the stealership for "diagnostics"... on the other hand, I have known mine to be very sensitive as to picking up the parking curb and going crazy as I roll the rear tires right up against the curb before stopping... and mine's lifted...

Be careful though because the factory uses 4 sensors and the add-on the dealer installed on mine had just 2 sensors. You can't get the factory one added. The factory unit has a dash mounted switch to shut it off and the add-on one does not. Check with your dealer (or after market place) first.

Has anyone installed "factory" sensors, rather than aftermarket?
