Hey there. I had the same problem with my '05. Took it into the dealer (under warranty). They could not specifically diagnose the problem, so they replaced all the associated (switch, sensors, and relay). Works fine now. $500 in parts on the receipt.

Well, I have the problem that it won't stop buzzing, no matter if anything is there or not, it just beeps the whole fricking time! Looks like they will have to replace most of my stuff....we will see in a week.

Is it cold where you are right now? There have been reports that in exceptionally cold weather, either ice or road salt cause a false positive. (Happened to me last winter one evening when it was about 10 degrees.)
I'll go with the road salt/ice diagnosis. I backed out of a spot at a store the other day and my sensor was going nuts like I had run over a box of kittens. Got out and looked around, nothing there. Tried it again with the same results. The sensors looked fine, nothing visible on them but a few drops of dried salt but I wiped them clean with my fingers anyway. They worked fine after that.
if the "off" light on the switch is on, the system has detected an error and will have a fault code stored
Well, I cleaned them off and still the same problem...

I just washed it so it could have tripped something. It is going down to the dealer next week, so I will have them take care of it.

As for the error, the light is not lit up when it is on.

I will let you all know when I hear on the problem!
One thing I forgot to mention on mine. The switch to turn off the backup sensors was always on. I could not turn it off. I thought it was the switch, but like I said, they replaced it all.
in my case the button is lit up OFF and also it was cold that day about 19 when it happend, but yesterday it was about 50 during the day so if there was ice it is definitly melted. i guess the dealer is the only one to read the fault codes in the truck?
Mine was fixed under warranty. Mine would not beep, and the light would be on, and no amount of pushing the button would turn the light off and the beeper on.
I went to the car wash yesterday and was fine until this morning. Again, the slightest amount of freeze or condensation on the sensors causes this. The rim around the sensor seems to trap water, turning to ice. As the temperature warms during the day, ice around the rim melts and condensation re-forms on the sensor.
I just got my 05 back from the dealer today after getting this problem fixed. Seems the left sensor had a loose connector and that f-ed the whole thing
I have had the same problem and it always happens if it is really cold, or if precipitation is present.

I washed mine yesterday and the sensor was all ****ed up the rest of the day. This morning, everything was back to normal.

Yeah, it was a bit warmer here yesterday and they are back to normal
Exact problem I had. Took to dealer. One hour and $71.26 later, worked fine again. Dealer said it was corrosion on a connector.

Same problem here. Washed the truck...... BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. Solid tone. Based on what I'm reading, it should clear up when it gets warm.

Anybody ever use a hair dryer? lol
