I think the main criticism of the Hypertech when it came out was that it didn't allow removal of the WOT restriction. I dunno if that has changed or not. If you intend to get headers or cams, get Uprev.
I dont know where that came from. I was one of the beta Testers for hypertech and the WOT restriction removal was always there from day one that I received the unit.I think the main criticism of the Hypertech when it came out was that it didn't allow removal of the WOT restriction. The guy from Hypertech said it didn't, maybe they changed that after people *****ed?
Hypertech does remove WOT, but does not allow the 2 degree advance. (They call it 0-60 Throttle Restriction.) No 2 degree advance was why I sold my Hypertech and bought a BDGT. I can say that I had better gas mileage with the Hypertech, but a better launch with the BDGT. If you go with the BDGT, you'll have a nice display to view all your vitals, but of course then you have to find a place to stick it. Really, you can't go wrong with either. The Hypertech is a lot cheaper. The Hypertech staff does an exceptional job of answering questions. I bought my Hypertech from someone on a forum in April 2010 after buying my truck. They didn't have a tune out for the 2010 at that time. I emailed them and asked for it and had it within 1 week. Two months later I asked them to add the 2 degree advance, and they refused, so I sold it. They said that they didn't want to be responsible for ruining an engine by advancing the timing and they didn't recommend that anyone run that mod. I'd still have my Hypertech, if they had given me the 2 degree advance. I wanted the ability to add it and remove it at will, otherwise I could have gotten it done somewhere else.I think the main criticism of the Hypertech when it came out was that it didn't allow removal of the WOT restriction. What? With what? Uprev? You can also do OEM NAV Bezel + touch screen + carputer + Uprev (and any other windows software you want to run, movies, mp3s, GPS, etc.)
yes, if you run a carputer you can run uprev all the time, just like it you drove around with your laptop plugged in everywhere you went. What? With what? Uprev?
Yes, you can run Uprev or any other Windows based software. If you have OEM NAV, you can buy one of several different available adapters to allow you to switch between multiple video sources (e.g. computer, backup camera). If you don't have OEM Nav, you can buy the OEM NAV bezel and mount a 7" touch screen. You can find threads on this if you search for "carputer"What? With what? Uprev?
