I have my phone at the same settings on my prior Toyota SUV. The radio settings at comfortable listening settings.

When phone calls come in the alert is so loud it startles everyone in the truck. I've searched the vehicle menus and see nothing particular to the incoming alerts. Also turned down the phone settings.

Still scared the you know what out of my Wife.

Any additional ideas?

I had this issue with my 17 pro4x. There is an independent volume setting. This can only be adjusted during the phone . Have some one call you and then during the ringing use the master radio volume to turn down the level. This is also the case with their navigation. The volume is independent and can only be adjusted when the navagation voice is speaking.

Thanks for the tip. So you adjust via the radio and it will adjust only the incoming call volume and not everything else? I know on my Note5 I can adjust a lot of things per app/function. I've maxed out PocketCasts volume on the phone so I can turn the radio level down.

Yes, I was in the same boat where an I coming call would scare the crap out of me. Then figured out that the radio volume control, actually changed the volume of the ringer only when ringing amd then you can also change the volume of the call while on the phone talking too.
Took me a week to figure this out.
