I've done it less than 3 years ago and love it!!.
FWIW, I suggest the use of straight flow resonators. Without them, the exhaust sounds "raspy". Also, dont forget to install the O2 "bungs"

Ditto on adding straight through resonators. I had straight pipe in for a little while and it sounds bad (popping, crackling, rasp.) Now I run some Dynomax bullet mufflers in place of the factory resonators (2WD.)

Well, I got it done and really enjoy it so far with the Magnaflow muffler. Has some rasp to it when you get on it. Kind of reminds me of an old school hot rod.

I didn't make it two miles from the shop and the CEL came on. Guess I need to get some O2 simulators? Any other suggestions?

While I was getting the cats put on a removed the tailpipe from the rear most hanger on back. I did over 300 miles yesterday and it's great, get on it and it's loud, cruising is nice and mellow and no headache induced drone and any speed!

No need for O2 simulators.
1.Just weld one "O2 bung" into each midpipe (if it wasn't done - which would lead me to question the automotive knowledge of the fabricator/installer) and install the lower O2 sensors. It's the right way to do it.
2. Make sure you use OEM Nissan (all metal stainless) flange gaskets. The cheap non-OEM gaskets leak or blow out from too much WOT exhaust pressure (I made this $15 mistake).
3. Check that the new flanges (of the new de-cat pipes) are perfectly flat with the opposing flanges. Any leak here will throw CEL codes.
4. Seach this forum for resetting the CEL light using series of "timed" steps using the ignition switch and gas pedal.
Good Luck!!

No, install it in the same spot. The CEL could be a number of things. One of the first things I would look at is a possible exhaust leak. It's not unusual for a new system (especially a locally fabbed one) to leak. Check the gaskets first. Even better, get the code pulled at your local AutoZone (or equivelant) and tell us what it was.

Once a long time ago I did a true dual exhaust with an x-pipe on an Armanda - The thing sounded awesome and didn't have any resonators. I wonder how this would sound? I wouldn't think that it would be raspy. Is it?

Did you notice any performance yielded out of it?

Not really, I drive the truck like an old lady. Just looking for a better sound.

Well, I talked to my exhaust guy today and told him I'm not happy with the results so we decided to just go with Hi-flow cats....like I should have from the beginning.

He's going to do it for just the cost of the hi-flows so I'm happy. Going with some Magnaflows.

Will report back after the new year when I get them on.

Gr8titan, I guess I don't totally understand your post? Your saying I have to move the factory lower 02 sensor
There is a pair of O2 sensors that are installed just upstream of the secondary catalytic converters. If they were NOT re-installed (into the "new bungs" of the replacement pipe) they would cause the CEL to light up.

The blue circle shows the location of the O2 sensor upstream of the cats.
The red circle is the location of the O2 sensor on the new de-cat pipe (w/ resonator).
