My dealers don't have any Titans with NAV or RES for me to look at. They won't get one in unless it's the one I purchase - which I won't do until I have some more answers.

I haven't found any decent pictures of the res player for the 08 Titan. My question is for those of you who have one, does it look possible to replace the factory player with an aftermarket one that would have a screen in the front?

If this is possible, the I may be able to replace it with a HDD Nav + DVD player and still keep the factory radio with possible HVAC interfacing.

Or even better, would it be possible not to get the RES and use the spot where the DVD player should sit in the dadh for something?

I was also wondering about the NAV. The top piece where the NAV screen sits looks different than when you don't get one. I wonder if it's possible to order the NAV bezel piece and use the oversized opening for something usefull?

I'd say skip it and use the money to buy some headrest monitors from James. I think he has a sale on them right now. The factory screen is small and its not in a very good location for people to watch it.

Unfourtnatley they dont have a dash kit out for the 08's yet but I'd skip the factory nav too and get a nice Kenwood unit, the Garmin based GPS is a lot better anyway.

Ok, dumb question - who is James? I only found this place a short time ago and I'm still in newbie mode.

As I mentioned earlier, if I don't get the RES system the hole for the dvd player should still be available behind the front bezel. It seems that I should be able to order a replacement bezel with the hole already in place for trucks which have the RES unit and then have a spot to place something else.

Also, I have 3 kids and only 2 headrests so I'd need something for kid #3 to watch. The overhead was my option for her.

Finally, what Kenwood unit? I like the StreetPilot 7200/7500 and Nuvi 770

HAHA sorry for that. James is a site sponsor, his screen name is Tech12Volts.

Someone just added a aftermarket screen in the factory bezel for the Nav screen. Check it out here:

I was thinking something like the 7100, its a dual din replacement Nav unit that also plays movies. Then you could feed the signal to the rear screens. You could probably do an overhead too if you wanted. I'm sure they make a few flip down options.

Read more about the headunits here:
