i have an 06 se crew cab and my front drivers seat is completely junk. all the foam has failed and it is very uncomfortable. i was thinking of replacing the seat foam but i'm not sure what i need to buy and how much its going to cost. i went to courtesy parts and looked but i was not sure what i needed. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if you are talking about the seat back, bottom, or complete seat, but I have a similar issue with my 07 seat back. I purchased an OEM seat back foam for $63 shipped from TX and the local upholstery shop quoted me approximately $100 to replace it. I haven't had the work done yet as I just received the foam on Saturday, came in factory Nissan packaging and it is just a shaped foam insert. If you have side airbags, it is a different story, I don't. I got it from the link below.

Check out post #7 for pictures of my seat.
http://www.**************/Titan/index.php?showtopic=9188, same old song and dance here, replaced seat cushions bought on-line for $125.00 for both and $120.00 labor for the install from an upholstery place. It feels much better than it did, but I don't think it will last either, and the seat still looks flat. The whole new seat leather and all is about $1200.00, so that's what I'll have to do in the near future. Good luck, it's ashamed we have to do this kind of stuff, I have never heard of seat cushions wearing out before.

On the URL you'll have to put in Titan S po t. c o m

it is the seat bottom and the back. the back looks easy to replace but the bottom may be different. the covers are just covers and can be taken off, getting them back on could be difficult. its bs that this happens and they don't do anything about it. nissan has lost a customer in my forever. i own an 05 altima and the 06 titan, never again will i buy anything they make.

from that ilustration it looks like #17 is the pad for the bottom of the seat?

a memeber on here offered me 2 08 seats for $225 for the pair but the color doesn't match. i was also thinking of getting some seat covers and adding some foam under them. i'm not sure what to do to be honest. i wish someone would just steal the damn thing and end this saga.

let me know how you make out, i'm up in arms as to what i want to do.

the dealer replaced mine under warranty once so how hard could it really be?

that was my original plan, maybe find some memory foam and place it under the cover. it will also help with staining, as we all know, water stains these seats.

I just did a leather interior on my '07 CC myself and my molded foam pads appeared to be in excellent shape and I'm not a small guy. 250lbs+ and 50,000 miles haven't seemed to bother them much. The front seat(s) are fairly simple to upholster especially if you are only going to do the bottoms.

- Pull the whole seat assy out - 4 bolts thru floor and an electrical plug.
- From under seat remove 4 bolts that hold the seat pan. Pop off wire tie keepers. If they break replace with zip-ties.
- Unclip the plastic j-hook strips holding the stretched fabric to the pan.
- Roll the fabric up the sides to expose the hog rings on top of the seat cushion.
- Clip the hog rings and carefully pull the velcro'd strips apart while removing the cloth from the foam.
- Install the new molded foam cushion to the pan.
- With your upholstery inside out line up the listing wires in the foam and cloth and re-hog ring together.
- Press out wrinkles on the top of the seat cushion and roll the sides down over the foam. Rub-in any Velcro areas.
- Stretch and re-secure the plastic j-hook strips just like they were installed.
- Bolt the pan back to the seat assy.
- Re-install the seat.

I'm planning to redo the actually seat part of my driver side in an 06 SE Titan; I snagged a hole in it with my keys and it just went from there. I ordered the OEM replacement cloth just for the seat section off ebay for 100 shipped which is an exact match to my current interior color. As for the foam insert I just bought a roll of upholstery foam for 30 locally; my original insert is a bit ragged so I'm just going to use it as a model to make my own mold from the roll I bought. Local shop wanted 250 to redo just the actual seat section which yeah going this route I'm saving myself 120 and spending a few hours hanging out with my pops.
