Saw a new XD at the local dealer today so I stopped in to look at it. I mentioned to the salesperson that i had a 2012 but couldn't see myself in the new XD or the gas version based on looks alone. He said that seems to be the consensus and that he's been hearing rumblings of a completely revamped Titan by mid 2019. Says the designer is being shown the door and they're bringing in someone new. Did say they thought they'd sell a lot more based on the Cummins brand but it hasn't panned out. They will continue with the Cummins though just basically a new outside appearance but nothing major internally.

Nissan has way too much R&D invested, to change the truck within three years. Such a move in the auto industry is unheard of. IMOP, they will discontinue production all together before another re-design so soon.

That would be my guess as well. Sadly, I see full size trucks going to the wayside in another 20 years so.

^^^^agreed^^^^

Ford and GM sell enough 1/2 tons they can afford to change the body every 5 years or so.

Nissan can't afford what the OP is suggesting. With today's economy a radical change costs lots of money and is a huge risk. Cummins is taking a risk putting a household named diesel in an uncommon truck. IMO Cummins is making a mistake, I wonder how much they'll lose? I also wonder how much of it is an intential write-off loss.

That being said, I'd buy a 2nd gen gas model 1/2 ton for the drive train alone.

With the endless increasing MSRP prices, that alone is enough to make them dinosaur's.

Accept for the Honda Civic back in 2011, they moved the refresh ahead several years to address the styling that was widely panned. In one model year they made significant revisions to the interior and exterior. I doubt Nissan could be so agile but by 2019 is completely plausible

They may end up like Chevrolet and do a face lift after two years. No way their is money for a complete revamp.

I'll take the Titan Warrior. That or I'll just keep on adding after market parts to my 2012:)

I wonder if the Titan Warrior will be at the Raptor price tag, or if Nissan will keep to it's roots and make it affordable for the working class.
If it's even remotely like the concept I doubt it'll start at less than 50 and that's optimistic.

Was just looking at my local dealer's web site and they have a Pearl White SV xd with Cafa Latte interior trim. Wow! White on white. Reminds me of the old Cadillacs that were white with white interior. I could imagine Boss Hogg driving this truck. After seeing this I feel that a revamp can't come soon enough. It's John Roberts Nissan in Manchester, TN if you're interested in seeing it.
