If anyone is having problems with the RF radio reception or performance, you should call 1800-nissan1. I did and they said I was the first person to register a complaint about the problem. My FM reception is terrible, especially when moving. The dealer check the connections and could find nothing wrong with that. The dealer contacted Nissan for some guidance. I was pleased to find that the dealership was so progressive. When talking to the Nissan rep, he said that Country Nissan had called in with the problem. Sounds like the type of service department that will do good by me.

Anyhow, Nissan needs to see how widespread the problem may or may not be, so call if you have the radio problem.

First, turn off the SSV.

Second, the Aux should probably only used with a unit that has a Line out and not a headphone out only. Just a thought.

Third, I'm cool with the CD/Radio volume difference. The reason, I know the quality of CD output, I don't know what I going to get from the Radio.

Forth, I'm going to buy an Aftermarket XM radio unit and plug it into the AUX and test my own theory, and if it does what you say, I'll be calling too.
I have had the SSV turned off from day one, and I'm having the same reception problems. I have had many car stereos over the years from OEM to aftermarket Blaupunkt and Pioneers, and I've never experienced a radio with poorer reception than this. I live about 10 miles out of Pittsburgh, and the city stations barley are received. I drive in to the city everyday with the radio fading in and out the entire time! This does not seem to be anything normal or fixable without the replacement of the unit itself. The dealer checked all the antenna connections already, and i have a call in to Nissan.
