Well, I've been in contact with Nissan several times now and I think that they may be replacing my existing radio. They called my dealer to discuss the problem. But with what, I don't know. There seem to be some out there with the RF radio who are pleased with its reception. So maybe there was just a bad lot? I 'll keep you posted as this is getting close to some action being taken.

i was one of the first to complain about this issue but im not sure if it has turned into 2 issues? I get great reception but mine sound goes in and out. Some have described it as almost going mono instead of stereo. which problem are you having and do you know if nissan knows about both?

Actually, I'm having both problems and Nissan seem to be digging through all of the complaints about the system. That's why I think they may end up replacing mine for now, as I can't always get in a station that's less than 15 miles away.

Galaxy.... If you go to the manual on (page 4-30 in mine) it tells you how to trun the SSV. off. I have the RF. If yours is differant you may have to have the dealer trun it off for you.

I'm not optimistic about the radio issue getting fixed. They address it explicitely in the service manual!!! It actually appears to me that they've known of the issue and just wanted to CYA by outlining the symptoms and the NATURAL causes of them in the manual....

It's in the troubleshooting section of the radio...

You can speak with Matt at 1-800-Nissan1 (ext. 3788). They are aware of customer complaints regarding the radio cutting in and out of stereo but they just don't have any answers right now. He even said that the more customers who call the better. Apparently, Clarion is the radio manufacturer. Perhaps we should be calling them to complain as well.
