I have a 2005 Titan with 212K miles on it. The rear end was whining and my mechanic says it needs 1 to 4 bearings. He can not find the bearings. Nissan said they could not get the bearings. So did the local auto parts stores. Any ideas or information would be appreciated.

I believe the the only serviceable bearings in the rear differential are the wheel bearings. Other than that the whole differential must be replaced as a unit. Very $$.

They found the parts - replaced all the bearings and seals in the rear end - $340 for parts and $1100 for labor. Not cheap but better than a new rear end.
