RIP Titan

My faithful '04 T was totaled by the softball/baseball/golf ball Wylie hail storm on 4/11/16.

-She had roughly 170k miles so just a baby.

-This was the first vehicle I ever had to take a loan for and paid off.

-I drove away in the T when I got married

-She kept me safe in a head-on collision and a few other accidents over the years and you'd never know it by looking at her.

Wife actually cried when they put it on the tow truck. I have many fond memories in the T, many with TT members. Felt like I closed a huge chapter of my life. :frown:

RIP

Its odd to think how a man's truck can create an emotional bond. But its something that can take you through thick and thin.
Holy crap, that must have been one hell of a hail storm to total your truck.

It is odd, but at the same time not. It's a constant companion. I love my truck, and have many great memories in it. It's purpose built, by my own hands, and no one else's, and I'm proud of that.

Sorry about your loss brother.

Pix of carnage?
Thanks guys.

Yep, Thousands of baseballs were thrown at it for 40 minutes in severe winds that also spawned two Twisters.
It was declared a national disaster with over 2 million homes not to mention vehicles damaged or destroyed.

What are you planning to replace it with?
I replaced it with a 2015 Infiniti Q50 - that will soon get a Hail Protector.
It may sound strange, but I couldn't really replace it with another truck, not the same.

Sorry to hear, I've worried about hail for years. Sucks, and definitely understandable to have a bond with a truck. It's your ride, dependable and constant. Good luck with the Infinity. Too bad you couldn't get another truck.
