Hello all,

I'm new to truck owning and just purchased a 2017 SV with the premium package. I am looking at making it a bit more aggressive looking and was wondering what risks there are to a 2" RC levelling kit, 1" block on the back and upgrading to a larger tire size (either 275 or 285 r70 18)???

I bought an extended warranty so I'm sure the levelling will effect the warranty, but how about ride quality, sound or fuel economy (funny saying that about a truck)?

Not going off road, Just a city rider that wants to look more manly! Any help would be great. Thanks!

If bigger tires is all you are after, you may be able to install the 275/70R18 tires on a stock suspension with no issues. They come stock on the Pro4x models, but I don't know how it would affect an SV.

Warranty shouldn't be affected by just a leveling kit except for maybe if the strut needed to be replaced or something. Look up the magnuson moss act.

Biggest thing is to watch out for is CBC (coil bucket contact). Bigger tires can always affect MPG. Shouldn't have any sound issues. Maybe if you got some sort of loud mud tire or had CBC and heard it hitting when going over bumps.

Is your truck 4x4? Imo, any change to a 4x4 front end geometry is asking for premature failure, but there may not be any adverse affects, just my opinion. If you want to level your truck, I'd lower the rear with drop shackles. The fender gap is already very big with any new truck domestic/foreign. closing that gap with big tires and sucking up the rear would be what I'd do/did. ..

I've ran a 3' front/1.5" back' leveling kit on my Titan for close to 7 years now, no adverse side effect, dealership didn't care one bit about it, some dealerships will, but they can only deny warranty if they can prove that the modification caused the problem. I have heard the front suspension is the same on a second gen as it was on the first, but can't confirm that. If they are the same, if you put a 2" spacer on the front, you will need aftermarket upper control, arms to avoid coil bucket contact (anything over 1.5' on 1st gen, assuming the same with 2nd gen). It should not affect ride quality if done right, but it will affect mpg's (aerodynamics) especially if your adding bigger heavier tires.

Thanks guys! I figured mileage would go up. I was going to add 275's but everyone reports that it just fits. Would like a bit of room in there.

I'll go talk to the deal before jumping the gun. See what they say, they may honour the warranty if I buy rims and tires from them!

Lots of dealerships are selling new Titans with lifts already installed, warranty intact.

I have the RC 2" front level kit on my '17 Titan and RC said you don't need UCA's on second gen unless you go higher. They don't even sell them for it. had over 5k miles on the level and no coil bucket contact or un even tire wear yet.
