I am in the pre-planning stages about what to do with my son's system. I have already installed the Tech box with SD SAX100.2 driving 2 BA G110's which sound awesome.

I am planning down the road of replacing the speakers in the doors/dash with BA Pro-60's front which are good for 125w @ 3 ohms & Sl-60's in the rear which are good for 80w @ 4 ohms. I am also thinking about adding another amp to drive them which I think that the SD SAX100.4 would be perfect for 100w x 4 @ 4ohms.

Here's my question, while looking at the drawings, I see that there are 4 channels from the RF HU to the stock RF amp. Then the amp I guess does the crossover and distributes out to dash tweets/center/sub/front and rears. I am planning on disconnecting the OEM amp completely and feeding both Sundown amps with just the raw 4 channels out of the RF head unit.

Here is my question........

Does anyone know if these 4 channels out of the HU are speaker level or RCA line level and what would I have to do to get these 4 channels into RCA levels to feed a both amps????

Like I said, I am in the planning stage right now and any help will be greatly appreciated.

The attachment only shows the Fronts from the HU.....there are 2 other channels for the rear

The 4 ch's out of the RF HU will be "high level". You will need a 4ch LOC or better yet the converter that James has advertised to conver it to RCA's. You will also need the 2 wire harnesses to wire up the LOC. The problem with doing this before the RF amp is that the factory HU has a very weak output so the volume will be low. I tried this before I put in my Eclipse HU and I added a line driver to get the signal up so that the volume would match the rear speakers too. Since you are replacing all 4 it might not matter.

Good choice on the SAX 100.4 though!!!

Thanks, these harnesses will fit the RF head unit?

Also wouldn't I need two of the RE-Q's from James????

The RE-Q's are just 2 channels and along with a sub output......

This may sound stupid but do I need to use all four channels from the head unit???? which would mean I need two RE-Q's....right?

Like I said, any info is greatly appreciated

Use the current Loc you have the rears . rears are not that important at all.

Yah what James said...

The RE-Q is nice because it also gives you a sub chanel.

Yep, you get both harnesses and wire up the RE-Q+LOC on the speaker outputs. This will make it so you dont have to cut the factory harness.

James can also get you the Metra harness you need. It would be Metra 70-7550 and 71-550
