I am resurrecting this thread... I have sold my lid, going to order my fiberglass, and am really looking at doing a roll bar / bed rack set up... Does anyone have any idea if this ever went into production??? Otherwise, I was going to see about having something similar fab'd with mandrel bent tubing...

PLEASE have someone fab you one up so it looks legit and not retarded like some of them. Like mentioned earlier, the titan is not from the 80's. If done right it'll look sick.

Yeah, I like the full length angled rack appearance that's on the prototype, as well as the integrated roof rack... Gonna have to measure and sketch out sone renderings before launching the plan...

Man the Rhino bars look erectorset-ish and :gay:

What ever happened to the heavy double tube steel bracing that was characteristic of the 70's and 80's? The **** they make now is just for bling and absolutely nothing more. Design engineers must be earning dressess and panties in schools these days instead of engineering degrees.

I know it's gonna cost me an arm and both legs but I'm leaning towards madrel bent chromoly tubing for the 4 vertical supports, 2 side rails and 2 cross members, then the roof rack and light bar can be made of something less costly... still brainstorming...

Sounds like some good design material. Its good to see there are still folks who know what roll bars are supposed to look like instead of that :gay: sh*t.

I'll bet Paul Fox at Defiant Truck Parts could custom build something you designed. No affiliation here but I do have one of his light bars on my Titan and the quality was first rate.

Chromoly really necessary though? Hope you start on this, i wanna see this build. I think the roof rack build thread by yeggsfab or whatever his name is, is what got me to sign up on titan talk haha.

I want chromoly for the roll bar supports because I want to make sure the roll bar portion will actually survive a roll-over instead of just crumpling under pressure if that would ever occur... of course the cab and hood would be dented but hopefully only minimally vs. a collapsed cab roof... As anything quality, it's gonna be more $, but in this case $ spent for better safety...
