Hope this isn't too dark. I guess I could always get brighter tail light bulbs. I cannot find if there is a too dark law in the state of colorado. I would hate to get pulled over. Do you guys think this is too dark?? It may also be that it is inside and it is 1230am so maybe it'll be better in the sunlight...hope so. Or I may have to use some sort of paint thinner or mineral spirits and start over. I really like the blacked out look and I think it will look pretty [email protected] sharp on the truck. Yes, I know the bottom pic the tail light is upside down. It wouldn't stand up the other way.

EDIT: I will post some more pics tomorrow/this morning with them mounted and lights on!

but I used VHT Nightshade, and some clear coat.] I did about 4 coats of the Nightshade

I still need to put a clear coat on them. But, I mounted them real quick since it is late and wanted to see how the light would shine through. I did not black out the 3rd brake light yet. I did find the law in CO. The tail lights need to shine red and be visible at 500 feet.

Brake lights on...

blinker in action...

Just do what I do...get a spray bottle fill it with water and get ur sandpaper and spray the lights and sand away keeping it wet with the bottle..simple. Water is just used for a little more lubrication so it's not so rough

heres what mine came out like with 3 coats...ENJOI

put a few drops of dish soap in the water also will help use 1000 grit sand paper. I have also used brake fluid and Napa brake cleaner to remove paint off of plastic with good results obviously it you go this route you should test small area.
I actually used gasoline on a rag to remove that lens tint and I washed the gas off with soap and water and then repainted. Love how the 2nd time go around came out. So I am leaving it like this

I just used that same tint last night and mine isn't too dark. I stopped after two coats though.

Nice truck. What brand of tonneau cover is that? I like the looks of it compared to the snugtop i have.

Thanks! The cover came with the truck when i purchased it. It does have a decal on the back, It says Covermaster. I get a lot of compliments on it. I really like it. My favorite thing is that it locks. I keep a lot of stuff back there and i dont have to worry.

My vht came out flat black....??? help?

I sanded the light down with 1000 grit, wet sanded. followed by like 3 coats of VHT, then clean coat. i tried to polish the light and it doesnt really help. now what????
its not at night thats the problem, Its during the day. I see people all the time with WAY to much tint on their taillights and can't see ****. Not saying yours is but just letting you know. At night you'll never notice their tinted.
Did mine a little different. Taped off the brake lights and turn signals after one coat of the rustoleum lens tint. After some sanding and clear coat I think they came out great.
