hey everyone....anyone have an issue with rust under the front bumper? doing my last oil change i noticed 2 spots, identical on each side up near the top of the bumper on the inside. nissan told me this was normal surface rust and to not worry about it. also 4 titans on the lot had the same thing. anyone else hear about this? :sex0rs:

mine has it too, so I wounldnt worry about it.
Mine have been through three Pennsylvania winters, soon to be four. They are developing some surface rust on the entire backsides of them. I'd like to take mine off before winter and coat them with something, if not, probably next fall.

Sooner or later, something has to be done, or they will rust through. So anyone planning on keeping their truck awhile should probably do something ahead of time.

If you've got the time/patience, I'd suggest getting some of thie "POR 15" stuff. It's supposed to be great stuff.

I may have mentioned it before but.....Nissan is replacing the door on the storage compartment behind the drivers rear wheel because it's starting to rust a little around the inner edges. I've opened that door maybe 4 times since I bought the truck...lol.

See that, HVT? If you had left it alone, it never would have rusted! Er......well, at least you wouldn't have known about it.... :D
lol...yeah....until it either fell off or wasn't covered anymore. And...I only opened it because my son put a slight crease in it backing up. That's how I found it and now Nissan if footin' the bill!

That is why I didn't buy one with the utility bed package. They throw salt on the roads here in WI during the winter. Salesman thought it was funny that I didn't want that storage compartment because I thought it would rust. This now confirms my suspicions.

I'm in upstate NY with all the salt also and I don't think 3 years and a little surface rust would keep me from getting the same package again. Tow straps and toilet paper need a home ya know! lol
I noticed when I removed my tailights that the frontmost upper rounded corner part of them seems to be rubbing the paint a tad. Likely another spot for rust to appear. I am impressed with the undersides of the fenders and everything though.
