88K on the Odometer.
Muffler and tailpipe cracked and riddled with rust is my main concern, as it won't pass inspection with my emissions/EMS computer. The y joint looks good and so do the manifolds.

Essentially underneath the body there is some terrible rusting going on. Not to mention the ever so often shakiness that starts up mid drive from time to time. I think I got myself a lemon, boys. Hope that's not the case, I love my first truck.

So I'm trying to get a new exhaust immediately and install it with a friend, any suggested aftermarket parts? What are some initial thoughts or questions?

Where do you live? Is it just surface rust?

If I needed exhaust to pass inspection I would just go to a local shop and have them change whatever's bad for off the shelf stuff.

On an island that doesn't make autobody shops as affordable as I would like. It's more than surface rust.

I have an 05 with 125k on it now, here in Pennsylvania it has held up well. Just now starting to get some rust in the rear fender wells. Pretty satisfied with things, considering all the chemicals they treat the roads with here in the winter.

Beware of that flange just in front of the muffler. If that rots out, it could melt your ABS harness.

I have a 2004 SE with only 76000 miles on it. I replaced the exhaust with a JBA catback system at 20000 miles and it has held up good. Mine is also starting to rust at the edge of the rear wheel wells and the tool box door.
