S&B Cold Air Intake /

I have ordered an S&B intake from amazon... I would have ordered from Jason on here if I had found a thread about it earlier!!! Anyhow, The S&B intake I received did not come with any clear plate/shield on the top and 4 bolts to hold it in place. They want me to return it so they can send another.. I'd rather not wait 2-3 weeks for that whole process to take place...

So my questions:

1. Can I install and run the S&B intake w/out this clear shield? It seems it would just be an open filter on the top, like the Airaid MXP... Back in my civic days, there was no box, etc around the filters lol

2. Is it possible that I got an S&B knock off? I do not see anything on the intake saying S&B (only the box that it came in). Some pics I've seen online show an S&B symbol on the top of it. There are some numbers written on the intake - would you be able to tell if I got you those?

ok Jason has already answered all of my questions... I'm going to be asking for a refund on my amazon order and placing an order with him once my $$ is back from amazon.

Seems with no S&B stamp on the tube, it was either removed and/or is not true S&B.

Also he advised cannot run it w/out the clear shield.

Thanks guys - I'll let ya know if the new one has the S&B symbol when it comes in.. Supposed to be Monday. I can't wait to get it in the mail, get er installed and have Joe finish the Uprev tune!!! Truck is already a beast on the tune right now... :)

I've sold just about every intake there is and for the price, this is one of my favorites for the money. You can't go wrong.

I just installed my S&B intake yesterday. It was very easy and straight forward.

It sounds great while getting into the throttle and quiets down, nicely when driving easy.

I did not get the S&B badge on my intake tube, either. Although, it is engraved on the plastic filter cover.

I purchased this from Jason @ Burtman Industries and it arrived in a few days. He communicates very well with any questions you may have.

I received my S&B CAI yesterday and installed it. Same again, I did not have any S&B Badge either like you see in everyone's pictures. I did receive the engraved cover this time as well as some S&B decals. Anyway

After installed, I fired up the truck, it idle'd for 2-3 seconds and died... After some quick searching on the net I found that I installed the MAF upside down! Once flipped around, it fired right up. I can't hear the intake at all under normal driving. Under WOT however, it's LOUD and I like it! I run the Cajun 2.5" resonated bpipes, JBA Headers 6400S, and JBA Cat-Back40-1400 -- So my exhaust is pretty loud - could be the main reason I can't hear the CAI during normal driving. I did some data logs and sent back to Cajun Tuning - hopefully it'll come back with even more umph!! :)

This is just a thank you.. Thank you all at Titantalk for the wealth of knowledge that I have acquired while trolling the website. I don't own a Titan, mines the Armada. You all have been an invaluable resource that has helped me to pick my upgrades. Currently my Armada is going into the shop for the Cajun/JBA exhaust and by Monday will have the S&B CAI installed. To Joe, Jeff, Jason Burtman, and Matt. Thank you you guys are perfect to work with and rest assured when people start asking about my Armada I'm going to point the finger (?this way or that way? not the bad finger) at you guys.?. Thanks again everyone!

I absolutely love the S&B with Cajun/JBA exhaust + tuning from seymore4 / Joe. and also many thanks Jeff and Jason as well.

Everywhere I go my truck is turning heads and I'm constantly getting compliments on how the truck sounds :)
