I was on my way home today and i saw a Ram SRT/10 weaving in and out of traffic. Thing was bad a** looking all lowered and mean looking. And we all know how fast they are. But, when he gets a shot he nails it and the thing sounds like a rice rocket?!?!?!?!?! I have NEVER heard a truck sound like that before. No throaty grumble, no deep rumble.....just a raspy nasty racket. There is no way i could own such a fast a** truck and it sound like that!!!! Other than that.......yeah i was drooling. Sorry guys.

He's had something done to it exhaust-wise then. That thing has a sound all its own and can hardly be described as ricey. Ever hear a Viper get on it?...same exact sound. Deep, throaty and mean sounding.

It's amazing what some folks do to their vehicles...lol. To each his own I guess.
There is a guy here in town with a 2003 viper and it sounds like crap. I know his son and it was bad *** stock now it does, it sounds like a honda with a huge muffler. It is not good. I dont care how much more power you could get, that sound is not cool.
It was a fake. I have heard the RAM SRT-10, both stock and with different exhausts. The Viper V-10 growls like nothing else. At idle, it does sound ike a UPS truck, though.

I am 99.9% sure it was a real one. No hemi moves out like this thing did. It's just whatever exhaust he had on it was not what i would have wanted it to sound like.
Srt are bad but I can recall a highly mod titan beating one On a video web site I check out from time to time. Also seeing titan play tug of war with fords kinda amusing it at 3w streetfire.net
I kinda feel for the guy. Sometimes buying an exhaust is like buying clothes over the net. You just gotta hope it fits. Then, even if it fits, will it look good on you. Put a gibson on my last truck and there was very little difference in tone or loudness from stock. I learned my lesson and I am really researching this time. I am really leaning towards a magnaflow this time, but again have read comments on a bunch of threads that people were disapointed with the sound. I wish you could hear what they sound like on your ride before you pay.
V10's inherently dont have the sexiest sounding rumble and have an almost tinny sound to them. Dont get me wrong, that SRT10 is badass but a V8 will always sound more aggresive. Enzo Ferrari never wanted a V10 in his cars because he hated the way they sounded.
I know the sound you are talking about... it's scary
yup. the dude screwed it up ... this one belongs to owner where I work and has magnaflow, gibson headers, etc, etc (and a paxton) and sounds nothing ricer-like .... poor V10

Yes looking at that picture, the ones this guy had slanted out towards the passenger side from the exit section. It sounded like two Civics racing when he got on it.
There is a guy who comes to see one of my neighbors with a red srt and the thing sounds absolutley horrible. I don't even know how to explain it.
I just got a new Ford work truck with the 6.8L V10 and I have to say...it is a weird sound! Not V8 sounding, but not ricer though. It's hard to describe...the best thing to say is weird....lol. Very 1985 2.8L V6 growl sounding. That's the best I can say to describe it.
He may have had some exhaust work done & screwed it up.

A lot of the original vipers used an exhaust with no cross-over so each bank of 5 cylinders had its own exhaust and it did sound like someone stuck a couple of hondas under the hood.

I am pretty sure the new ones use a crossover and it sounds MUCH better, but one of my old professors had a couple of vipers and he had the exhaust all redone and it sounds like a beast!

Perhaps he likes it sounding like that
Maybe he put a Whoopie Cushion on the exhaust pipe?
i have a friend that bought his srt10 w/ flowmasters.. that srt10 sound it horrible.... magnaflow or bassani is the way to go...... but that does't mean is goin to be loud.... when i first install my magnaflow in my srt 10 qc sound it good, deep but not loud.... get read of the stock mid pipes that came w/ 4 cat. converters and replace them for 3" mid pipes cat less and my truck now sound deep and loud i love it.... in my srt 10 rc i have belanger headers, high flow cats, and a magnaflow exhaust and the sound is louder and deeper than my qc.... i love the sound of v8 too, specialy the sound of titan and hemis w/ nice exhaust.
