Driving home from work yesterday and this crewcab short bed gas Titan passed me by. I hit record on the cell and followed him for a few miles until he got off the hwy.
I believe it to be a non XD but the front end still looks like the XD??

Didn't have the low slung HD frame.
Shortbed / short wheelbase.
Smaller tail pipe.
Non towing mirrors.

Here's a few crappy screen shots from my cell phone recording.

Dam that back window, I hate it. How do you go from a bigger electric window, to that small manual window?

Yeah that's a shame about the window. I had a KC with that crappy window before my CC. It's funny in the picture behind it is another Titan you can see in the mirror. Must be the chase car. After seeing it I'm glad I went with a 15.

Good call on the chase truck, they were together. It was a Frontier though.

I thought the gas Titan was going to have a toned down front end. I was disappointed to see this truck with identical proportions to the XD.

I hope it was just a v6 test mule or something and the regular Titan front end wasn't ready yet.

I'll reserve my opinion until we see it without the cladding.

They are everywhere in Phoenix. Main test facility is here.

Nice catch, would like to see a head on shot to get a better idea. Its also possible its using the XD sheet metal for testing.

That's a very good point and possibility.

At first glance, it looks like a Ford and Dodge did the nasty together. Anxious to see the final product in person.
