I'm pretty sure I've read on here that exhaust and intake won't void the warranty.

I wouldn't sweat it, I've had Nissan's in the past where the service engine light has come on for no apparant reason. I've always been told that it happens sometimes if you get air in your gas. It would always go off by itself after I ran through a tank or two of gas.
THANKS! i wish i was where u live cause i just got finished clearing the snow off my driveway. im gonna take it in since its covered. thanks again!

No problem, let me know what they say it was. I'm curious if they point to the CAI where the computer portion goes in.

For what it's worth, I'm from Boston, but I'm getting used to the weather down here. It was 58 degrees when I got in my car this morning. :D
I actually just thought of something...before you bring it in, make sure there are no air leaks where the hoses plug onto your CAI, and going into the engine before you bring it in...also check around the computer module. If there is a leak, it may be throwing off the computer to think there is a problem...

I would just double check before you bring it in.
What brand is your new intake?

That is a incorrect statement. They can void your warranty IF Nissan could prove it directly caused a failure.
Find out what the code was? I've been through 3 MAFS with my K + N 77. Dealer said they had gotten a bad batch of MAFS. This dealership sold 32 for the Titan in one month. Alot of guys are over oiling the filter. K + N now has an aerosol can of oil, which makes re-aplying much easier without overloading the filter.
And if your working with a dealership that would void a warranty because of a cold air intake, you should find a new dealership. My dealership has installed all of my performance parts. Warranty is still good too! On top of that they are giving me a 5 yr. 100,000 mile warranty to cover the motor with the supercharger on it, because of all the down time I've had with S/C problems.
ok so here it goes...Nissan says that it will void my warranty if they can prove that the CAI did the damage...so i asked him what people are supposed to do who want to beef up their motor...he says that they have nismo parts that do not void the warranty...why they don't i don't know maybe nismo is owned by Nissan...OH AND THE CAI IS BY AFE AND ITS THEIR MAGNUM FORCE MODEL, THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT WAS EITHER BLOWING/SUCKING (I DON'T REMEMBER CAUSE I LOST FOCUS AFTER THE BEGINNING OF THE BAD NEWS) AT A RATE OF 8.35 AND THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT 3.0?????? anyone know anything about the silly charade i went through this morning? :eeeek:
also i didn't oil the filter...should i have and what with?:smoke:

According to their site the filter for the titan is washable and re-usable. They also sell a kit to clean and re-oil. I'm not sure if your filter came pre-oiled or not. What do the directions say? What kind of damage did you do anyway? If your dealership won't cover whatever damage was done by a CAI, you need to find another dealership.
no damage theyre just saying that if any was caused due to the CAI it wouldnt be covered...i think youre right i need to find a new dealership...this will be interesting...
