Hey guys, I have a 2008 2WD T with 180,00 miles. I kept hearing slight popping noises when I turned the wheel at slow speeds and also my truck was riding pretty rough. So I changed the lower ball joints and upper control arms (with new ball joints) on both sides. When I drove it at highway speeds, the steering wheel was shaking pretty bad so I assumed I needed an alignment because of the new parts. But it is still doing it and it wasn't before I changed the ball joints. Anybody have any ideas?

Balance tires maybe, bent rim. How are the wheel bearings? That's a long time for them to go if they haven't been changed. Balancing the tires is the cheapest but you can check the bearing by rocking the tire north and south but if you changed the ball joints you may already know that.

I've changed the passenger side wheel bearing. The driver side seems good. No play at all. And tie rod ends...seem like they're in good shape when turning the wheel back and forth. It's just weird that it wasn't doing it before the change. I'll have balance on my tires checked here in the next day or two.

I just watch some you tube videos today, someone described what you are hearing/feeling on your truck. The issue with them was the front u joint where it attached to differential. Check that out if you've eliminated all else.

Hmm interesting..didn't ever really think of that. But I'll definitely check it, I'll keep updated.
