Long time lurker first time poster here. I just replaced the fan clutch on my 07. While putting it back together I sheared off one of the 4 mounting bolts. Has anyone else done this? And if so, how much of a pain in the a$$ is it to repair? I went ahead and finished putting it back together with 3 bolts and a sheared nub protruding partway into the clutch mounting hole. I'll tear it apart again tomorrow to see (what else I can probably break) about removing the bolt with vise grips . Are the bolts themselves removable? And if so, what size are they? Are there any tips or tricks to make unf:censored:cking my f:censored:ck up more manageable? Thanks in advance.

As I recall, those are double ended bolts, and they do come out. When I converted my '07 to e-fans I removed all four bolts. Oddly enough, I threw those bolts in the trash a couple weeks ago.

They make a tool for removing studs. Try harbor freight for one. Then take one to a fastener place and get 4.

Thanks for the replies. I figured they were double-ended after watching a YouTube tutorial on the fan clutch swap procedure. The poster had hex bolts in lieu of the OEM nuts. I'll get at it tomorrow morning and probably be asking for further advice by tomorrow afternoon. Cheers.
