I have an '05 Titan with towing and off road packages. Shortly after troubleshooting and checking the fuses for my towing lights, my SLIP light is locked in and the Drive Train Indication that shows what tires are engaged when in 2 or 4wd is missing. The 4x4 Selector switch does not appear to be working and the normal noises do not occur. The truck ran in 4x4 about a week ago with no issues. Any help would be much appreciated. I can't afford a dealership repair right now. I topped off the break fluid as I have had the SLIP light issue before, but this is new with the 4wd issue. Thank you.

Look under the truck. Pay particular attention to the wires on the transfer case. Make sure everything looks good as a first diagnostic step.

Do you have an exhaust leak at the rear of the muffler? That has been know to melt the wiring harness that runs close to it.

I got under the truck and found the front transfer case seal had gone. No wiring issues I could find. Seal is replaced but no change to the SLIP light and the missing drive train indication. Code U1000 is thrown, and the ship that read the code said the body control module needs to be replaced. I can't seem to link the two together on this forum or others. Any help to avoid the dealership would be most appreciated.
