Check out Cooper ST's or STT's. Can't say that I drive in the snow (live in Louisiana) but they are available in the size you are looking for and look like they will provide excellent traction.
For studdable snow tires look up tirerack.com for Winterforce M+S. But since snow tire are usually designed for cars, you might be better off getting all-terrains. My Goodyear Wranglers with Silent Armor are excellent in the snow and slush. My guess is that you have icy winters and studded tire are best on ice, so it's a toss up. The down side about winter specific tire is that they don't last too long and WILL NOT last long at all if left on out of season.
18's suck for tire availability. Get some 17's an go with 265/70R17 Hakkapeliitta SUVs.
first off congrats on the new pro 4x.

Those tires were made for the pro 4x and you will not be able to find them in that exact size for some time (nobody makes that size tire yet) but you can get that diameter tire easily.

What makes you say that? I found all kinds of tires on Tirerack.com with the 275/70/18 size including the Wranglers I use.
