Hey guys, me again.
I am dropping a 2011 vk56de into my 2004 g35, I finally made it ro cranking the motor today.

So dash lights up everything looks fine, I turn the key and the solenoid clicks twice, no crank, and then everything goes black.

Any ideas?

battery is a brand new yellow top. 5/17

Pretty sure that is fine. Volts at main fuse block fine, once connected voltage at main block drops to 3v. Pull everything off main block, all outputs are 12.5v, starter and alt are good.

I pulled the ipbm and took the back off, looked fine.
pulled fuses out and started see a ton of corrosion. the metal grid under the white cover is rusted and green in many places. It is an obvious problem, if not the problem.

I have disassembled down to the block over over the top of the circuit board. I can not removed this due to the metal prones being bent 90 degrees over it and would ruin them to straighten them just to inspect board.

I see no corrosion at this level of the board and I am pretty sure the grid was the issue. The board smells fine but I can not inspect the top. The bottom looks clear.

I am considering buy a cheap ipbm with the same layout to replace the grid a relays. However I can not find the same large letter.

If I go have to replace the entire ipbm, to what extent do I need to match the part number?

I have uprev so I am not concerned with programming.

Thank you

you're making this too hard. first eliminate the starter as the problem since that's not what is spinning. a starter won't drain unless there's short in it. If it's open, no spin, no drain, no start. if the starter is good, then check the solenoid...they can go bad...even if they click once. if both check out electrically and mechanically, then work backwards to the electronic hard stuff to diagnose since you believe your battery to be a good one.
