SO I get the dreaded call from the alarm co, I have a motion and door tripped, they send police. Of course I get stuck behind some idiot doing 10 under on the way good thing the Titan's got some balls I pull off the double pass and get to the shop in less than 10 min. They broke in through a window and booked when the alarm went off nothing stolen thank God. The weird thing is we found two pictures of some dude mooning a camera in the woods people are f**ked up.

Glad to hear nothing was stolen.Alarms are worth it to invest in. Shop alarm or vehical alarm. I put one in my truck and now in glad I did because I would have had it broken into a few times already.

Thanks for the sympathy guys, Yeah it could have been a lot worse. I own a coffee shop where we roast the coffee on site. Think of a micro brewery concept applied to coffee. We've got lots of delicate expensive stuff, the good thing that comes out of this is that my partners finally agree that wee need a good CCTV system. And I get the fun of setting it up. I'm thinking that i need to set it up so I can check on things from the internet.

yeah dude, did you ever see that show on discovery "it takes a theif"? they basically break in your house, steal/break/riffle through all your goodies, then come back, return your stuff and set up a state-of-the-art security sytem. 2 weeks later they show back up to see if you are using it...

back to the point, i've seen the internet cctv systems on that show, very cool stuff. if you can swing it, why not! i'm sure the insurance company will thank you as well.. plus you can see what your employees are up too.

this was the kicker, they took a dump in the stair well... even after the construction was completed (installing an elevator in an existing building) the dump remained....
This reminds me of something that happened to my brother’s truck. Late Christmas eve two years ago my brother calls me up and says his Tacoma was stolen while he was Christmas shopping. It was parked in a strip mall shopping center parking lot about 100 yards from, and in full view of, a local police precinct office that’s in the same shopping center. He walks over to the police, reports it, and waits about a month and a half for them and his insurance company to investigate. Finally he gets his check and buys another Tacoma.

Here’s the kicker. My brother gets a call 14 months later. His truck was found in the same parking lot where he left it. The insurance company wants him to come get his personal belongings out of it. Turns out that the truck was never stolen. It’s been parked in front of the police office the whole time. My brother claims that someone stole the truck and drove it to another part of the parking lot. He won’t admit that he just couldn’t remember where he parked it.

The truck was reported because of the stink. The bums in the area were using it as their private commode. The seat and floor were covered in turds. Some of them looked like fossils. The truck smelled so bad that you had to hold your breath just to walk up to it.

So my bonehead brother loses his truck and reports it stolen. For 14 months when the lot empties at night, the Tacoma is in full view of the Police while bums use it as their toilet. The insurance company sent an investigator to examine the case and couldn’t find the truck.

People never cease to amaze me.

Be sure to get a multi-camera DVR system.
