Well it's been a rough week to say the least. While returning on our family trip from South Dakota to Texas we hit a deer. At around 10:30 at night my wife was driving the first leg of our trip through "The middle of no where" Kansas at the posted speed limit of 60 MPH when a 8 point buck decided to run in front of the Titan. This was the half way point and I had my two kids with us. Before we started driving I told my wife that if we were on a two lane road and a deer ran in front of us to drive straight and brake a hard as possible to overt a roll-over, and thats what she did. Unfortunatly, the deer was not quick enough.
After gathering a few large pieces from the road we continued to Dodge City and got a room since there was a pretty good leak from the radiator. The next day I decided to try to continue to drive. We were able to drive about 25 miles before we would have to fill the resevoir. This worked OK until the Texas/New Mexico boarder when it would only take us 5-6 miles, and we ran out of water and were stranded on the side of the road. After a half an hour a great American stopped and shuttled us water to get us to the next major town.
I decided to take a better look and tried to patch the radiator with JB Weld and it worked! We continued home and arrived later that night. I'm just glad that everyone was ok and that the damage wasn't so bad that we couldn't continue on. I really don't know what I would have done in that situation.
The Titan is now in the shop and I'll send the before and after when she's done.
