I got a quote from the dealer of $620 to change my plugs. I bought the plugs at Autozone for $80. I'm wondering, does the dealer also change the coils during the spark plug change? Seems like a large mark up. Getting set to do it soon. Thanks.

You shouldn't need to change the coils unless you break one/tear a boot. That's a ridiculous amount to charge for maybe 2 hours worth of work (by yourself). It's a lot easier if you take the wheels and wheel well covers off.

Are most folks going back with factory recommended plugs or is there a better plug (performance wise) that folks have found? I am debating on whether I should go ahead and change mine with 66K on my truck.

Most Nissan products specify NGK plugs and going to anything else has resulted in WORSE performance IMO. I'd stick with the factory recommendations for best results.

^^^ +1 There have been a number of experimenters that tried something other than the OEM plug and found either no gain or they performed worse.

I strongly recommend using a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs as well as the bolt that holds down the coil. It doesn't take much force.

These are the plugs I went with. [ame]https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GZGUP8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1[/ame].

I changed mine out at 100k and haven't had any problems in 35k miles.

Which plugs should I go with on in my stock 08 5.6SE flex? Advance Auto Parts has 13 pages of NGK plugs... Iridium Ix, G Power, Laser Irid, Nickel, Racing... and the list goes on. They all will work I'm sure, but I'm not an expert on Plugs and I don't want to put something in that is going to give me bad performance or gas mileage. any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's pretty bad when Amazon is more accurate than the parts store.

The Flex Plugs are different than the non-flex models. I wrote a post about it not long ago, with pictures. Anyway, if you aren't running flex fuel, you will be fine without the flex plugs, I run non flex plugs in mine, and no problems, but flex fuel doesn't exist in my area, at least not that I've seen. If you want to save some coin on plug change, get the non flex plugs.
