Hey guys another noob question. I have been pondering the idea of adding a set of the Spyder LED tails to my T. The ones they list have a side lens that apparently act as a tailgate illumination of some sort. Well, my truck does not have this cut out on the bed.

Is this something Nissan deleted or is it a trim thing (higher models vs. lower models)?

Since mine doe not have the cut out, do they still mount and work properly?

Any experiences with these lights? (Moisture, premature LED life, fading of lens) I am looking at the red lens version, that is why I ask about the fading.

Any help will help out this noob.

TIA!

I'm assuming it's related to trim level. My 06 LE has the cutouts for those inside lights you're talking about. I can't imagine there's anything detrimental in that little rectangle that would be harmed if you cut it out yourself... I imagine that's what Nissan did with the higher trim levels to allow for the light anyway. I'm not sure whether the wiring harnesses back there are different for those with and without those lights either.

Well I want to get those lights but I am not willing to hack my truck to install them. So if that is the only way to get them on, then I guess I don't want them that bad.

So I contacted both Spyder and K2 who are the two most popular providers of LED taillights for our Titans. They both told me the same thing....that their taillights will not work on my 2015 Titan...Hmm, okay...to me they looks exactly the same as they did since day one in 2004. Am I missing something here? Can anyone confirm that the taillights have not changed one bit over the years?

As stated before, some trim levels had them some didn't. My 2011 CC SV does not have the lights. I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm wrong but I believe they only came with the trucks that had the utilitrack option. Sorry, after looking at their LED tail lights, it looks like they don't make any for any year Titan that doesn't have this option.
