So I have stock pipes, on a flowmaster 50 series. I'm going to buy a Banks muffler off a member. I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on this muffler, with a flowmaster y pipe, and stock size pipes. The Fm isnt loud enough for me. The y pipe will bolt in correct? And than weld it on the other side? I also need the part number for the Y pipe if anyone has it.

Is there anything else I should know or consider before doing this?

Im running that setup right now. If you think the flowmaster is not loud enough this is not the setup you want it is super quiet. I have stock pipes into FM y to banks muffler dumped before the axle. Super quiet and no drone.

Maybe its just the distortion but that sounds way loud for what it is. I also have two sets of cats though. Mine is super quiet.

Seriously??? that extra .5 makes that much of difference in the sound from stock pipes to the 3" banks pipes?

Sucks you live so far away cause I have no one to hook me up with a killer exhaust ha.
Yes it does. The smaller diameter helps it move faster out of the pipes. Our engines love backpressure. My setup is factory 2" pipe to the FM Y 2.25" to 2.5" to the banks 3" muffler. Sounds good makes alot of torque versuses the entire banks exhaust. Im ruining right now im gonna get a FM 70 series and sell my whole banks exhaust for like 350 or something crazy like that.
