I bought a 2018 Titan SV 4x4 about 6 months back and I am pretty happy overall. But one morning about a week ago I came out to find my drivers door keyhole cover removed. And today I happened to park next to a Infinity QX80 that had the same piece removed. He happened to walk by as I got out and I asked him about it. It turns out he was only gone an hour and it just happened! In both our cases nothing looked missing from inside.

How common is this issue? It looks like the part is about $30-40 OEM which is OK but if it’s likely it will just get stolen again then maybe I’ll just install it when I sell the truck long down the road.

I also noticed that turning the main key in the lock allows you to roll up and down the windows. Can this occur with a regular non-chipped key/fob? Is that what the would-be thieves were trying to exploit? Or is it simply petty theft of the part itself?

Thanks
