Hello all! I went and looked at a 2005 today and while test driving we started hearing what sounds like a tensioner going bad. The stange thing is that it only does it while it is in gear and moving. I couldnt get it to do it in park/neutral and it would go away when stopped. Any ideas?

That's backwards of the problem I had. Mine would squeal on a cold start and stop squealing when warm or driving. I replaced the belt and all is good. It is an auto tensioner and others have had them fail. It's not an expensive thing to fix if it is bad.

Yeah, its really strange. Its completely opposite of what the couple of tensioners on different vehicles that have gone bad in the past. Ive asked a couple guys I know and have heard everything from a hole next to one of the plugs thats leaking air to a squeaky u-joint to the brake pad wear clips... Im at a loss.
