So there's this road right infront of my work. My buddy takes it all the time in his SS. Starts off pretty good, then like 1/8 way through starts to bog down. Hear this beeping sound and start feeling the back dig down. I look at the dash and don't see the 4X4 lit up. I wasn't going anywhere. Walked across the street to my work and just so happens by buddy w/ the SS is working valet today. Told him i just got stuck. He couldn't help but laugh. He said i could use his tow rope and ball. So i call my brother in law and tell him what happend. Told him to go by my buddies house and get the rope and ball. Mean while i walk to the employee lot to get the wifes Titan. Get back to the truck and start diggin. This black chebby turns around and tries to help. Says right off the bat the his truck won't pull me out. Luckily he had a rope. Tried like 3 times pulling it from the front. Every time i yank it forward he was late on his part. So he gets in his truck and tries to turn around and pull me from the back. He knew it was soft a#$ sand and still he tried. Dude got stuck. Take the rope off my truck and hook his up to the wifes. Got on the gas truck slide sideways and out he came. Tell him that my bro was on his way down. By this time the truck is stuck worse then before. Now it's down to the frame. Brother gets there and we start to dig out by the tires. Tried like 3 time and couldn't get it.:crying: It's dark out by now. Been there like 2 hrs. We now try from the back. He's in mine and i'm in the wifes.1st try it budges, but now i can't go anywhere. Tribal (police) shows up. Asked if we wanted him to call a tow truck. Told him no, that we think we can get it. If not when my buddy gets off he said that we could get his Burb and get it. So we continue, 2nd try gets a little more, and then on the 3rd try out she came.

well that didnt seem like fun. you said you were in 2wd by accident, you could have put in neutral and turned it to 4x4. the 4x4 can engage with out the truck moving. as soon as it started to sink you could have done this, you probably didnt know, and its too late now but this might help in the future.

You have the wrong tires for sand. Let a little air out next time. A couple of pieces of wood and 4wd would have gotten you out faster.

Live to learn.

Wow what a stuck, not to get to off subject but my 07 did not want to go into 4 hi the first time out 3rd day I got her. I had to shut the truck off, restart it, and use neutral to get 4 hi. Never had a problem since.

My tires are wider then the wifes, 265/75/18. She's got some pizza cutter's on hers, 245/75/17.

Spur of the moment type deal, didn't think about the air down thing till' it was too late. Need to start bring the tire gauge w/ me from now on though.

obviously the bad part of airing down, is you gotta air them back up :) When you are duning usually you got a nice big compressor for the buggies handy :)

Have you tried putting your 08 in 4wd from N? Ive switched in and out of my 4wd 04 while I was bogging down in mud and worked like a charm. Another time I slowed down and must of stopped to hard in mud and had to switch to N and got her in 4wd no problem. That could of helped you.
