Sup fellas! Ok check this out:

Since i'm a ghetto mexican, and sh!t is gettin' real with all this crazy weather up here in North Texas, I was gonna shell out some serious dough for some Michellins. but, just as my luck would have it, the rebate that NTB, Discount Tire, and Costco had for a mail in rebate for some michellins and BF-G's are over.

So i'm going old school and I want to use the tire off my spare tire (wheel) and use it as a regular tire (since its a FULL SIZE Spare Tire... correct?). I did this with my crown vic, i had the tire off the spare taken off and put on one of the wheels, since the tread was 100% and same tire size. :teethmast

Now, since i'm covered in snow up to my nuts, i cant really crawl underneath the truck and read the tire size off the spare to see if it will match the others. I have an 08 SE CC with stock SR-A's still on them (just under 60k).

I'm assuming the "spare tire" has an SR-A on it, but eh, i'll buy 3 more el cheap-o tires until i get the $$$$ :eyebrow:

and i would use the tire with the most tread (about 3/32nd) to put in the spare, in case i need it)

since I'm lazy, does someone know the tire size on the spare tire 08 Se with 18 inch rims? and if its an 18 inch steel wheel?

Gracias!

it should be the same as the tires on the truck, but may have a steel rim instead of the aluminum spoke rim. Mine was the same rims and tire as the truck.

where exactly is "north texas"? I have 2 like new bf goodwrench and one good SRA in the garage, i could let go of cheep, but im south of houston.

sweet. yeah i'm taking the tire off the wheel and swapping them. so the black steel wheel will get the old balding tire, and go back under the bed, while the new "spare" "tire will go on the rim. kick ***!

thanks homie!

Ya know, you might eventually swap out the Bald Spare later so you don't end up with 2-flats while on a long trip... IMHO, a Titan is a mighty nice truck to be parked in the "ghetto" regularly, I would also put at least 3 decent locking lugs on each wheel before your rims come up missing just for the new tires (when you do finally get them)...

actually pops i live in the nice part of town, with factory McGuard wheel locks. I consider myself more on the Ivy League side, but there are times where i gotta go ghetto, case in point.

I'm actually going to spend over 1k on tires, but not yet.

just a band aid.

Gotcha, just wanted to throw that out there as a reminder... I grew up in the "ghetto" areas back in the '70's and early '80's but that was a LONG time ago... I interviewed for a job yesterday that was only a few blocks away from one of the rent houses we lived in so I asked the Security Guard about their parking lot crime because i was curious if it's changed much. He said "it's more like, when doesn't it happen??"... He also suggested removing any and all Military stickers, especially Marine Corps from vehicles because they get hit the hardest by thieves who are looking for guns... He said any one of those stickers is a loud and clear bait switch...

interesting. well i have navy plates in my truck, (DoD stickers, Operation Iraqi freedom Texas license plates), but i live in the nicer part(s) of town so that isn't an issue.

on the flipside - veteran status does seem to deter police (not always, but more often than not) around my area.

basically, if cops respect me, i'll respect them.

p.s. i found "pablos' truck and tire" that will swap the tires on the rims for $10 (spin balancing included).

amazing what happens when you wear a Mexico National Mens soccer team jacket and hat.

Which by the way, I think they play Bosnia or Yugoslavia today.

Go Mexico!

jajajaja!

If your regular tires have the TPMS and your spare does not, it will set off the dash light.

ah... thats right. i forgot about the TPMS. but if i'm only swapping tires, this shouldn't affect anything, correct?
