Hi everyone, I'm new to TitanTalk, I just paid off my 2011 Nissan Titan PRO-4X (w/ Option Pkg) this summer. Now it's time to do some upgrades lol (payments were a ***** so now have more money to spend on the truck lol).

I'd like to do some upgrades to the suspension and exhaust system since not only do I have money to put into it, but I'm having some issues that warrant replacement on parts that are now over 6 years old - essentially 1) my muffler has a hole on the top - or so the mechanic at the dealership said during my final inspection before my warranty ran out - and I always said when I start having exhaust troubles, I'm going to go with a stainless CB exhaust mainly for longevity and look (hoping my choice won't be too obnoxious with the sound). 2) my PS front strut is leaking, and I would like to stiffen my suspension especially for winding roads here in Newfoundland - currently using the truck mainly on street roads, little off-road.

So for exhaust:

I'm looking at getting the Magnaflow 15144. I'm familiar with Magnaflow on previous vehicles I've owned (had a dual CB exhaust from them on a '00 Accord V6 and it was awesome). Any thoughts or recommendations on this choice? I read in one thread that one person has it installed and was hoping it would be louder, but I'm not looking for that lol but I also assume it will be somewhat louder than OEM.

So for suspension:

I was looking into replacing my front struts (as well as rear shocks) with Ranchos since it has the Rancho suspension system as stock for the PRO-4X. Don't know if this should be the best option for me or not. All options are expensive so I want to make the right choice for my vehicle. Also, looking at a front sway bar from Stillen to stiffen the suspension for the winding roads here (honestly sometimes its freaking annoying to be swaying back and forth so much in my seat on some of these roads). Maybe a rear sway bar should be installed with the front as well.

I appreciate any and all thoughts on this. It'll help me make my decisions a lot easier! :)

Cheers

I would look into bilstien shocks and struts as opposed to rancho myself. I think it?s a more quality ride, but that may be a personal preference. You already have a stock front sway bar, so I would look into the rear myself. The exhaust is up for debate on here, but the clear winner is the jba cat back. The jba for the price and with the exception of one experience that was later rectified by jba I believe quality is hard to beat. Check out Cajun b pipes they are a site sponsor and can help with any exhaust needs.

Rear sway bar will help with the body roll, I wouldn't buy a front sway bar, you already have one factory and I doubt you'll be able to tell a difference factory vs aftermarket. The rear sway bars helped my body roll heaps. I haven't heard great things from rancho, I'd stay clear and go with bilsteins.

As far as exhaust goes, there are too many options...all too loud except for the resonated jba setup

For suspension upgrade, I went with Fox Racing 2.4 inch piston, 3 inch body, internal bypass front shocks and Fox Racing 2.4 inch piston, 3 inch body, internal bypass, remote reservoir rear shocks.

I went from a loud flowmaster dual outs (on the truck when i bought it) setup to the 22 in magnaflow muffler with turndown tips. The magnaflow is much quieter than the 13inch flowmaster but still has a great sound when you get on the gas. I was worried that exiting the muffler under the truck would add to cabin noise but it sounds fine.

I also refreshed the stock pro-comp shocks (titan no fear edition lift) with the bilsteins. much more controlled ride. not harsh or bouncy. The old shocks did not seem bad when i pulled them off but after 170k miles I am sure they were well past their prime.

have fun modding!

If this is your DD and you don't off road much, the best and most affordable suggestion posted above is the Bilstien struts. You can put them on the top setting to stiffen them but even leaving them on the middle setting will be stiffer than the crap Ranchos. Also as stated, the front sway bar wouldnt be worth replacing but rather add a rear sway bar. JBA cat back is a great choice. I believe it's stainless. It has good sound for the Titan, and again it's affordable.

Do you plan on upgrading the tires to a larger size?

Thanks everyone for the tips! It's enough that I'm seriously considering the JBA CB exhaust now :) Also good to know that I only need a rear sway bar lol saves me a few hundred there. As for shocks/struts, I'll check out either Bilstein or Fox. I believe Bilstein will be the more affordable option to get similar or the same results.

LSturbointeg - no planning on keeping with the same tires - 265/70R18 - probably going with a new set of KO2s within the next year once my current Wrangler ones are done. Heard a lot of good feedback on those tires from other truck owners (not just Titan owners). However, I would love to find a set of my PRO-4X rims in gun metal at a good price. Something to look out for anyways.
