Yeah, I am sure that Suzuki didn't do any kind of a market survey or anything like that. They should have just called you, and forgot the whole stupid idea. It would have saved them a lot of grief. After all, who wants another choice, it might cause the market to be flooded, and the prices will drop, and then who knows, maybe they will go out of business because there is no profit. But then, I guess they are willing to take a chance on that based on their blind faith in the future.
Just another stupid viewpoint (mine, not yours).

Nah, Just being a smarta**, I really didn't care if anybody had an opinion or not. It is just a news article.

It is called leveling. If I knock you down, it makes me appear better than you are. (at least from my viewpoint, stupid or otherwise).
We all do it to a certain degree, but some are better at it than others.

I hope that Suzuki succeeds. I would guess that they are at least paying Nissan a fair rate to use their facilities, if not a joint venture of some kind. This is a good thing for Nissan, don't you think? I just think that it is funny for someone to call it a failure before it happens.

I think that you are all handsome and exceedingly intelligent...you bought a Titan didn't you?

And I am never sarcastic, and I have a great sense of humor.

I wouldn't bet on that. If it wasn't for the fact that I "needed" a full size truck to pull my camper, I would be driving a mid sized truck. In fact i've owned more than a few Dakotas before finally buying a Toyota Tacoma [which is another mid size] before I bought my Titan.

The "mid size" market is wide open, just look at all the Colorado's, Rangers, Dakotas, Frontiers, Tacomas, etc on the road.
As Mid Size has gotten a little larger, with a better fit for real life, it is set to explode as we have greater desire for economy. Many of us could do well in a proper Mid Size. I first looked at the GMC, but was unimpressed with a flimsy grab handle in the rear seat are, and tight legroom in back. Rest of truck would have met my real needs for a family of four. Decided to get a 6 seater for my kids friends and cousins to ride along at times. But a 5 seater would have done OK.

My point exactly. And look at the amount of Mitsubishi Raiders (Dodge Dakotas) that you don't see. If Suzuki is doing nothing but a re-badged Frontier it will be the same case.

I didn't know that. It's hard to believe Suzuki has the motorcycle/ATV division packing the car division.....IMO not very smart on Suzuki's part.

Not really IMO Suzuki is rebadging a much better truck than Mitsubishi did, the V6 has more HP than the V8. Plus Suzuki has a killer warranty that will be linked to that truck and will probably be cheaper than the frontier. The downfall of the Raider is it was an import brand copying a domestic brand.

I actually like the styling of the Raider, looks better than the Dakota's IMO.

I don't think it is a bad idea. Suzuki is already teamed up with Nissan/Renault overseas. Suzuki has some decent models with diesels over seas, why not team up with nissan and slap one in a rebadged frontier to see how the market takes it? The currently make the Suzuki Vitara overseas with a Renault 1.9l diesel (120hp, 220ftlb tq) and it gets about 38mpg. The also have a Puegeot diesel in the SX4 that gets close to 50mpg.

And with Ford exiting the mid-size scene (sniff, bye bye Ranger, yeah, right) after 2009, there is one big opening left.
if Suzuki can pull it off good for them they have never been all that great in the car market i would like to see them succeed with a truck if everyone knows that it is a nissan/suzuki product it should help them sell i agree with the fact that foreign/ domestic doesnt mix well in peoples eyes jap/jap should be a success but it has happend i mean ford and mazda pulled it off pretty well i mean sometimes i see the mazda b-series trucks and cant tell its not a ranger until i get right up on it
Another waste of time and marketing. It will be cancelled in 2-3 years tops. The only thing Suzuki has going for it is the warranty......which it needs. Go ahead and spend less out of pocket and more time and headache at the dealer. Not to mention your cool points drop a healthy 75% upon purchase. As past spin-off models have shown, no one cares. IMO it doesnt help Nissan's reputation at all. Might look good on paper, but you wont catch me driving a Sauzuki with my hard earned $$$$$$$$. As the movie Tommy Boy says......"you can slap a guarantee on a turd in box and it still is a turd. "
On a positive note...........yay for the people of Smyrna if this brings new industry there.
