I don't know why but i'm having some problems lately with switching from 4wd back to 2wd. You know how on the dash it shows the front wheels blink and then dissapear. It will take a minute sometimes before it stops and your in 2wd again. I've even tried shutting the car off and starting it again and it still is blinking and then just randomly it just switches to 2wd. I plan on taking it to nissan i was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. thanks

I have discovered a little nuance with my truck too help this...

If I hit the gas moderately after switching back to 2wd from 4wd the light stops blinking and it switches back immediately to 2wd. I'm not saying this will work for you but it works for me. I don't stop the truck, put it in reverse or anything special I just give it some juice and it works for me every time.

Of course you have to be moving and not stopped.

why? the owners manual says you shouldn't swith from 4hi to 2hi while in Drive and moving?

it'd probably be a good idea if you read your owners manual on how to use your titan.

edit: finattic you should probably read ur owners manual too..... its a good thing you drive a titan, or else your hubs would be ****ed up.
That's exactly right...I'm not going to stop, put it in reverse and all that business if I don't have too. I might as well have to get out of the truck and lock and unlock the hubs like my old Toyota.

I read the owners manual and I'm pretty sure most don't stop, put the truck in reverse and then continue every time the 4wd is disengaged...what a pain in the azz that is...

by the way in case your having a difficult time reading the message displayed underneath the visor that i took a picture of, its says 2wd to 4wd and 4wd to 2wd can be done while driving and must be performed at speeds less then 60mph.

if you were driving an older 4x4, and shifted it to 2wd, you would burn up your hubs... unless you reversed so that the hubs would unlock.
Guess what Mr. Know it all, that's not in the manual, and the Titan dosen't have locking hubs at all the fronts engage full time, just not the transfer. You need to know what your'e talking about before giving advice!!!!!!!!!

actually no, i don't know anyone who drives in reverese... people usually put the car in "D" Drive to actually "drive"... and i think they'd note the fact that it has to go in reverse.. thats not really a smal detail..

Where not talking about older 4x4's. Stopping and reversing is not necasary in the Titan to dis engage...

finnatic, im sure you would rather put the truck in reverse for 2 seconds than get out in the mud, and unlock ur hubs.
What????? I checked your profile, you don't even have a 4x4!!!!!!!!!!!
