i have had mine for 5 months and it is already starting to give out on me so IMO i would wait until my warranty is about up and them go get it replaced because if it goes out again as wuick as mine did than your just going ot be replacing it again sooner

If I were you, I'd have them replace it every damn 5 months until the warranty was up then! Why do w/o it just so you can wait for the warranty to be almost up?

Im a new titan owner (3weeks) pretty new to TT, I bought an 06 that was over the 36k mile mark. part was 25bucks and suuuper easy to install. took 5 min. two #2 phillips screws to take off the tailight, used a long #1 standard flat head screw driver and popped of the old and in w the new. piece of cake!!! if urs is wearing out i would rec. this fix. quick, easy and cheap!!!

just like the women here in florida.... (oh ya there old too) mmmmmmm:teethmast

I'll be honest...I didn't even know about the tailgate assist. I saw one in a magazine a while ago and wanted one but they only made it for Ford and GM models (as usual). Where can I get one of these? and is there an aftermarket brand available?

Go look at both of these and call if the Titan isn't listed yet.
www.ezdown.com or www.deezee.com
On one of the pages there is an install video and it appears to work perfectly.
