Hey - it's here and got it put in. WOW what a difference!! When opening it kinda kicks out fast for a couple inches then nice and slow down. Up, two fingers. Very nice. Our gates weigh too much lol

Yeah it's nice to have. Need to get off my butt, order a new strut and change mine out too.:D

Posted from my Titan.
So wait a minute, is there one shock only or are there two of them behind both taillights..
Thanks.

There is one behind the passenger tail light (I believe behind the driver's tail light on 2004?)

For anyone who has an older Titan S that doesn't have tailgate assist; it takes 5 minutes to install one. I have a 2011 Titan S which didn't come with the assist; I ordered the tailgate assist strut online and it took me 5 minutes to install behind the back right tail light. All you have to do is snap the strut into place. After you take the tail light off, keep in mind you will need to lift your tailgate up to get the bottom mount to rotate down to line up with the strut.

For reference, I got my strut off of Amazon: [ame]https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KWFTAYA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1[/ame] (Nissan 90450-ZH000, Tailgate Lift Support)
