Ok so this is weird.. when I start up my T, I hear this pretty loud sound that sounds like it's coming from inside the cabin. But it sounds like someone taking a drumstick and tapping on the dash three of 4 times then it stops and doesn't make the sound again.

Any idea what this might be? I searched and I really don't think it's any of the other issues with manifolds or injectors but who knows... any ideas or questions?

Sure it's not your vent control actuator? That's pretty much exactly what mine sounds like, a loud taptaptap/reset/taptaptap noise from beneath the dash.

Yep sounds like the vent actuator. Mine does it too. Bet it does it a little bit after you shut the truck off too. Dealer wanted like $430 to fix mine. I'll live with it

Ya that's exactly where it's coming from! So it's nothing to be concerned with?? Is it something that if not fixed can cause long term problems?
As far as I know it's little more than a nuisance, and is a fairly easy fix. I haven't gotten around to it though yet being the procrastinator that I am. But yeah Bubbz is right, next time you shut your truck off just sit there for 1-2 minutes. If it is in fact the vent actuator, you'll hear it go through that cycle again.

If it's bugging you to the point where you need a fix now, check out that thread Chad posted. Should save you a fair bit of money versus going to the stealership.

I replaced mine. Took about 30 minutes and some bloody hands from it being a really tight area, but not too difficult to do.

Seems like an appropriate avatar picture for you then.

How much did the replacement actuators run you? Did you get them from a nissan dealer?

I only replaced the vent control one. I think it was $35 or $40. I ordered it online from an online Nissan parts website

Should I hear the tapping again? Or it just going through it's cycle.

I don't know about the heat actuator, but the vent control actuator closes the vents a minute or so after you shut the truck off. You will her the clicking sound down near the gas pedal if it is the vent control one

Behind the glove box is the heat mix actuator. I don't have experience with this one. In the replacement thread I sent you, there is a way to do it without tearing the dash apart. It is mostly done by feel if I recall.
