so the other day i was getting ready to go to school to get me some statistics tutoring when there's a knock at our door. my dad calls me down and he (semi-jokingly) tells me they're repo-ing my truck!!!!   wtf!?!?

the guy at the door representing the bank who financed my truck (wachovia) assured me that's not what he was there to do. he was there to discuss why i was late making payments and to hand me a "confidential" envelope w/ instructions on what to do next in order to avoid repossession.

well i'm never late but now i was doubting if i missed a payment or something??? we all stood there in confusion ESPECIALLY when i looked at the paperwork that listed me as a co-signer w/ the debtor being some lady i don't even know?!? it had my full name and home address though. btw i'm the only one on my lease.

after standing there for a minute my dad reads my mind and grabs last month's bill to compare account #s and sure enough they're different. i just happened to have my truck's VIN# in my phone so we compare, and sure enough it was different too. and you know i have a pic of my truck on my cell phone wallpaper so w/out even stepping outside i compared the license plate#s and they were different! the year of the truck was also different!

the guy gave me an 800# to call to find out wtf and the guy on the other end is just as confused as we are!? he talked directly to the bank rep and told the bank rep that it was ok to leave because i'm not the chick they're lookin for; he left me w/ the confidential envelope so i could follow up, apologized for the inconvenience and left.

soon as i got back from tutoring i called the 800# back and after about 10 minutes of investigating, it turns out it was a computer GLITCH!! :bangit: :bangit: :bangit: now if this had happened to where the bank was sending out an actual repo company to come get a truck at my address, my truck would have probably been gone because as far as i know all the repo co's go on are addresses and they don't bother looking at VIN#s or license plate #s, do they??? this ever happen to anyone else? should i start chaining my truck to my house or something?? lol..

There suppose to check the VIN even if its in the addresses drive way to make sure it is the proper car/truck they are looking for cause if they took the wrong one then they would be in lots of trouble.

Banks don't know what the hell is going on. Two weekends go on a sunday, I had a repo man at my door looking for me and the car (the 05 Sebring). Apparently a payment hasn't been made sense November of 08. I got a call back in December, and was working with the bank. A payment has been made in January apparently last I talked to them, and they have it in their notes to ALWAYS call me no matter what..havn't heard from the bank in 3 months (mind you in December/January they called me EVERY SINGLE DAY). So havn't heard nothing, next thing I know, repo man is there to take the car.

I'm currently talking to my lawyer about what actions to take being they failed to contact me and all that mumbo jumbo. Phone calls by law are recorded for any collection attempt so that should give me something to work with :)

Wait, aren't you the guy for whom, "Money is not a problem"? Or did they just want to repo your car because you currently own too many cars and 'the Man' is always trying to get you down?

I feel bad for anyone that has had there car stolen by a repo guy wrongly, but it is pretty funny to me when people get mad about it after not paying. I had a buddy who took the wheels off his Jeep everynight so the man couldn't take his ride. After a few months they got it. He complained about it for a long time, felt like he got ripped off. Still has not grasped that it could still be his if only he would have made the payments. He was making a payment every few months and to him that was plenty. He couldn't understand why the bank was mad.

Oh, you "Forgot." Why am I not surprised? Thanks for the edit though, that really puts me in my place. Just like your terrible spelling puts you in your place.
