so the other day i was getting ready to go to school to get me some statistics tutoring when there's a knock at our door. my dad calls me down and he (semi-jokingly) tells me they're repo-ing my truck!!!!
 wtf!?!?
the guy at the door representing the bank who financed my truck (wachovia) assured me that's not what he was there to do. he was there to discuss why i was late making payments and to hand me a "confidential" envelope w/ instructions on what to do next in order to avoid repossession.
well i'm never late but now i was doubting if i missed a payment or something??? we all stood there in confusion ESPECIALLY when i looked at the paperwork that listed me as a co-signer w/ the debtor being some lady i don't even know?!? it had my full name and home address though. btw i'm the only one on my lease.
after standing there for a minute my dad reads my mind and grabs last month's bill to compare account #s and sure enough they're different. i just happened to have my truck's VIN# in my phone so we compare, and sure enough it was different too. and you know i have a pic of my truck on my cell phone wallpaper so w/out even stepping outside i compared the license plate#s and they were different! the year of the truck was also different!
the guy gave me an 800# to call to find out wtf and the guy on the other end is just as confused as we are!? he talked directly to the bank rep and told the bank rep that it was ok to leave because i'm not the chick they're lookin for; he left me w/ the confidential envelope so i could follow up, apologized for the inconvenience and left.
soon as i got back from tutoring i called the 800# back and after about 10 minutes of investigating, it turns out it was a computer GLITCH!! :bangit: :bangit: :bangit: now if this had happened to where the bank was sending out an actual repo company to come get a truck at my address, my truck would have probably been gone because as far as i know all the repo co's go on are addresses and they don't bother looking at VIN#s or license plate #s, do they??? this ever happen to anyone else? should i start chaining my truck to my house or something?? lol..
